108 ERS and MMU Service launch at Raisen
The 108 emergency services run by GVK EMRI and Government of Madhya Pradesh in Public Private Partnership has become a synonym of trust and promptness in Madhya Pradesh. GVK EMRI has crossed the figure of successfully handling over four lacs emergencies in the state since its launch. Now working on the phase of expansion, the next district to be benefitted by the emergency services is Raisen. On 7th February 2013, Smt. Sushma Swaraj, Member of Parliament, and Leader of Opposition, inaugurated the services by flagging off the ambulance. 8 MMU’s (Mobile medical Unit) as a PILOT PROJECT was also launched along with 9 108 ambulances.Devendra Singh, Head of Operations, GVK EMRI (MP), and other team members also made their presence on the occasion.Sushma Swaraj, Member of Parliament, said, “Since its inception in 2005, the GVK EMRI 108 ERS is serving the community with their good deeds. This expansion phase in Madhya Pradesh will set new benchmarks in the Healthcare Industry. The Mobile Medical Unit under the PILOT PROJECT service is added to the emergency services to help with the regular checkups and daily medical needs. I wish all the best to the GVK EMRI team for the better prospects.”Commenting on the expansion phase, Devendra Singh, Head of Operations, GVK EMRI (MP), said, “With the recent launch of 108 ambulance service in Datia, and additional ambulances to Sehore District, the expansion phase is going very well. And now the emergency services are also operational in Raisen. Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) will arrange for regular medical and diagnostics checkups, for the areas covering Raisen, Sehore, Vidisha, and Dewas district.”GVK EMRI handles medical, police and fire emergencies through the “1-0-8 Emergency Service". Each ambulance is accompanied by a trained EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) who is responsible for pre–hospital care while transporting the patient to a hospital. If required, the EMT communicates with the in house ERCP (Emergency Response Care Physician), who is available 24/7 to support the EMT as and when required.The Mobile Medical Units’ holds village level health camps according to a pre agreed roaster. The camps helps in Treatment of minor ailments, First aid and referral cases, Early detection of TB, Malaria, Leprosy, Treatment of common childhood illness such as diarrhea, Pneumonia etc. The units are equipped with doctor, nurse and a laboratory technician.
